Terms of Service
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using WIMD ("Where Is My Dough"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
2. Service Description
WIMD is a subscription-based personal finance management service that helps you track spending, categorize transactions, and manage your financial data. The service includes:
- Bank account connections via Plaid or SimpleFin
- Transaction tracking and categorization
- AI-powered features for automatic categorization
- Budget and spending insights
- Data export capabilities
3. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the service
- One person may not maintain more than one account
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
4. Subscription and Payments
- WIMD is provided on a subscription basis with monthly or annual billing options
- Subscription fees are charged in advance for each billing period
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe
- You may cancel your subscription at any time—access continues until the end of your current billing period
- No refunds are provided for partial billing periods
- We may change subscription prices with 30 days notice—existing subscribers will be notified before their next billing cycle
5. Free Trial
We may offer a free trial period for new users. At the end of the trial, you will need to subscribe to continue using the service. We will notify you before your trial ends.
6. Your Data
- You retain ownership of all data you provide to the service
- We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal or financial data to third parties
- You can export your data at any time in CSV format
- You can request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Upon deletion request, your data will be removed within 30 days (except where required by law)

7. Bank Connections
- Bank connections are provided through third-party services (Plaid and SimpleFin)
- We have read-only access to your financial data—we cannot move money or make transactions
- We never see or store your bank login credentials
- You can disconnect bank accounts at any time from your account settings
- Bank connection availability depends on your financial institution's support
8. AI Features
WIMD uses AI to help categorize transactions and scan receipts. By using these features:
- You consent to transaction descriptions being processed by AI providers
- We use AI models that are opted out of training on your data
- AI suggestions are provided as assistance—you have full control to accept, modify, or reject them
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other accounts
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
- Use automated systems to access the service without permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
- Share your account credentials with others
10. Service Availability
- We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
- We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects service availability
- Bank data syncing depends on third-party services and your bank's availability
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by third-party services
11. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
12. Limitation of Liability
- WIMD is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not responsible for financial decisions made based on data in the app
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months
13. Termination
- You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings
- We may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these terms
- Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately
- Data deletion follows our standard process (within 30 days)
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Your continued use of WIMD after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
